The following is a case that typifies a persistent haunting by a ghost that is fixated on one overriding thought and is imprisoned in a time trap repeating the same daily routine over and over. As a single anecdote (and there are literally thousands of others) psychic detective Noreen Renier tells of a case in which she was asked to investigate a haunted spa.
In this case, people working in the spa at night would hear footsteps when there was no one else present. One of the whirlpool baths would overflow every night even after a spa technician had inspected and pronounced that there was nothing wrong with the pipes or control mechanism. All four telephone lines would ring at the same time with no one on the other end. These phenomena would happen at the same time every night for weeks on end.
The proprietors of the spar finally consulted psychic Noreen Renier who psychically visualized a woman in her fifties with flaming red hair in a whirlpool bath. Suddenly the woman grabbed her chest and cried out. The lady with the red hair seemed to be quite angry. “You tell my attorney to get going. He’s had too many delays, too many interruptions. Tell him to finish my case.”
In fact, a lady had actually drowned after having of a heart attack in the unattended whirlpool bath. She had red dyed hair, and also had a very acerbic personality. Her husband had begun a lawsuit against the spa, but the lawyer had been putting it off because of other pressing business. After some prodding, the case was finally settled and the haunting phenomena stopped.
It is difficult to credit this incident to some sort of super ESP, or to telepathy. Who else but the red haired woman would be motivated to create such disturbances? Furthermore, the phenomena were witnessed by numerous persons in the spa. These events certainly involved psychokinetic phenomena (i.e. the overflowing spa, the recurring footsteps and the ringing phones.) In other words, the phenomena were similar to those seen in poltergeist cases. Cases like this stand as substantial evidence for survival of the spirit.
