It’s a commonly held belief among New Age people that if we could all simply join hands, settle our petty differences and sing a happy song together, then all wars and human misery would suddenly come to an end. Unfortunately, the spiritual world and the material world are two different things. The spiritual world interacts with the material almost exclusively through the souls of individual people. Love is a spiritual property, and while it can drastically alter the attitude and life of an individual person, all social structures larger than the immediate family (especially nations) operate exclusively on the basis of human nature and materialism.
So, the answer to the question “Can Love Conquer All?” is NO! (At least not on earth.)
Human nature is NOT a spiritual property, but is an attribute of our very material human brains. You can’t force love on another person, let alone on an entire society. In a material world, everyone lives by material solutions and the contracts (laws) maintained by the moral standards of the ambient civilization. This is covered in chapter 18 on Religion and Government.
