This is a short page, but it’s important to understand this in the context of the seeming inability of ghosts to communicate information that would be part of a normal person’s conversation. It’s part of the reason that ghosts often seem rather vacant and obtuse.
The limited memory of ghosts that haunt places like abandoned buildings that offer little external stimulation or contact with living people is likely to suffer further deterioration over time. This produces a diminished personality wholly unlike the personality that the person had before he or she died. This is a phenomenon not unlike the effects of the prolonged solitary confinement imposed on some prisoners in the years before the twentieth century.
These forgotten prisoners might not remember their own names or the details of their earlier lives. Keep in mind, however, that even long term earthbound souls, if rescued and brought through the bright doorway into the mainstream sequence of the spiritual realm, will be reunited with their memories as well as the opportunity for spiritual evolution.
