God CAN directly intervene in your life, but He does so through your own bevy of “angels”. By angels, I do not mean winged beings of light (although these exist and sometimes intervene in our lives in extreme situations). Every soul born into an earthly body is accompanied by spiritual guides who try to “run interference” for them. Your guides are simply human souls who have been in Spirit for a long time and understand the purposes embodied in your life plan. You may have many unseen guides throughout your life.
Prior to birth, and with the combined help of other more experienced spirits, the newly emerging soul fabricates a life plan; a sort of subconscious blueprint for a living person to follow if circumstances allow him or her to live a “perfect” life. This life plan is a broad outline that allows for a lot of “lateral” deviation, and contains a number of voluntary exit points, usually in the form of planned events such as accidents, illnesses or even murder.
These exit points permit the soul to escape from its life if it knows subconsciously that it has deviated so far from its purpose that it cannot successfully complete it. Failed or foreshortened lives are not always the fault of the soul itself. Often, the reasons for an early exit lie in circumstances beyond the soul’s control. Even though the subconscious use of an exit point is a voluntary decision, it is not considered a suicide because the exit point was part of the original life plan.
Guides affect your life almost exclusively by “influencing” you or other people subconsciously. They can’t do “material” miracles. They won’t make you win the lottery. They can’t physically stop an attack by a bully, but they might influence his friends to stop him, or they might implant an idea into your head that can help you in your moment of need. They always do their best to subconsciously influence you, or the people around you, to make the right decisions. Influencing the behavior of butterflies and other animals seems to be an easy trick for them.
Your guides might not be able to stop an automobile accident, but they might be able to “arrange” the position of passengers to avoid severe injury. They might even be able to prevent you from boarding a doomed plane or driving your car on an evening when you might otherwise be hit by a drunk driver. Most of the things they do for you are done without you ever being aware that they have intervened.
However, your Guides will never do anything that might interfere with your life plan. That sometimes means letting tragedies happen without interference! Your guides do not receive direct orders from God. Rather, they know the soul’s life plan and try to help him or her to adhere to it. It is through their spiritual hearts that God communicates with them, and it is through their spiritual hearts that they remain with you and help in whatever way they can. And their help is subtle; a little nudge here and there. They are like a gentle wind that never stops blowing. They are always there, and you really are never alone!
